Preston FM's very own Dr Hoffmann - aka Norbert Papp - has hit the headlines. Local news website Blog Preston recently published an in-depth interview with the Blind Spot Show presenter, who you can find on air each Saturday evening here on Preston FM.
In the interview, Norbert talks about his experiences promoting techno events in his native Hungary, and how his Preston FM-based show is now broadcast on other stations around Europe. You can read the full interview on the Blog Preston website . |

Preston FM was pleased to be part of an exciting radio drama project - Divided We Fall - which ran on air throughout February.
Starring Vincent Ebrahim (The Kumars at No 42) and Mina Anwar (Sarah Jane Adventures), the drama looked at the contemporary issues of violent extremism and how young people can get sucked into it. Paralleling the radicalisation of a young Muslim Asian boy (Ibrahim) and a white ex soldier returning from Afghanistan (Jonno), it explored what makes people vulnerable to extremist views and what alternatives there might be. Even though the drama has finished on air, you can still find out more about the project on the special Divided We Fall pages of our website - including podcasts, pictures, a plot guide and a map of the fictional estate where the drama is set. If you've been listening, please tell us what you think of the series by filling in this short on-line survey . |

Building on our 25 years' experience in delivering innovative and effective community based arts and media projects, Prescap now leads a Community Radio project for Preston. Preston FM recently celebrated its first birthday, having launched full-time on Monday 6th October 2008. But we've been around for longer than that - since 2005, to be exact. Previous to our full time broadcasting, we were on air for six one-month-long broadcasts (known as RSLs). Our aim is that Preston FM will be on air until at least 2013, thanks to a licence granted by Ofcom - the UK communications regulator. All of Preston FM's presenters are local volunteers who give up their time to help keep the radio station going - and our programmes reflect our volunteers' huge variety of tastes and interests. We hope you will find something here for you - but, if not, why not get involved yourself and help make the station a success. You can discover more about the programmes that Preston FM will broadcast by using the schedule calendar on this site - and you can find out how to get involved as a presenter, producer, journalist or technician by visiting our "Get Involved" pages. |
